Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16
Heavenly Father,
We come before You with grateful hearts, rejoicing in Your faithfulness here in Burnside, Pennsylvania, for 150 years.
Thank You for the faithful men and women You first called here, the people called Methodists — pioneers in a post–Civil War world. They were lumber workers, rafters on the West Branch of the Susquehanna, farmers, and later coal miners, who labored faithfully and sacrificially to build Your Church in this place. We thank You, Lord, for this rich heritage of faith, courage, and hard work.
Lord, we thank You for every life touched, every soul drawn closer to You, and every seed of Your Word planted through decades of ministry. We praise You for Your Spirit that has sustained Your Church across generations.
Now, as Burnside Bible Church, we ask for Your continued guidance and blessing. May we, like those who came before us, work diligently, with perseverance and dedication. May all we do be for the advancement of Your Kingdom, proclaiming the gospel faithfully and loving our neighbors with Christlike hearts.
We honor You for the past 150 years and commit the future into Your hands, trusting that You will continue to lead, provide, and use us for Your kingdom purposes.
In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray.
Amen.

Gracious and Loving God,
As we gather this Christmas season, we come with hearts full of gratitude, hope, and longing for the peace that only You can bring. We lift up our little town of Burnside and ask for Your abundant blessings to rest upon us all.
You called Your people to seek the welfare of the place where they live, for as it prospers, so will they. Lord, we embrace that call for Burnside. May we, as a community, care deeply for the well-being of our neighbors, our families, and our town. May we be instruments of peace, justice, and kindness, working to ensure that all who live here — from the youngest child to the oldest elder — experience the fullness of Your love and care.
May the people of Burnside find in this holy season a renewed sense of unity and purpose. We pray for families, for neighbors, and for all who call this place home. May they know the peace of Christ that surpasses understanding, and may the light of His love shine brightly in every corner of our town.
Lord, as the days grow shorter and the nights colder, we ask that You would warm the hearts of those who feel distant, forgotten, or alone. May Your comforting presence be felt by those who struggle, and may we, as a community, be quick to offer kindness, support, and care to one another. Let Burnside be a place where mercy and generosity overflow and where Your love is made visible through our actions.
In the name of Jesus, our Savior, who brings light into the darkness, we pray.
Amen
